Jobs all around!

God is our provider. He knows when people need employment, and listens to the prayers of His people. One man recently prayed for a young girl to obtain a particular position. Not surprisingly, she got the job. Another member of our church recently gave up his job as an interstate truck driver, with no other job lined up. With a wife and two young girls to provide for, it was imperative that he find something else straight away. Within days he was offered (and accepted) a job that he hadn't even applied for, yet was perfect for his needs.

One lady was seeking work after many years of being unemployed. She too found a job that perfectly matched her needs. However, she was worried that the intensive training would be difficult to handle, particularly as she has a history of depression and was concerned that the training would leave her tired and feeling low after each day of work. So she prayed against these feelings and instead came home each day with enthusiasm and energy to spare! Not only that, she was able to ward off the illnesses that were affecting the majority of people in her training group by asking for, and believing in, the power of prayer.

Broken legs

Keeping with the theme of God healing body parts, one girl shared the story of a time when she was in an accident at work, resulting in her injuring her leg. She immediately knew it was a serious injury with broken bones and possible dislocations, and was in agonising pain. Bruising and swelling was evident straight away. Knowing that God is a healer, she prayed for her leg, and sent out a text message via the sms prayer chain for additional prayer. Within minutes, the bruises faded and the swelling went down. Bones were mended and she was able to walk easily on her leg. She praised God for his rapid response to prayer, and was relieved that she didn't even need to seek medical attention.

Tennis elbow

A number of years ago, a lady noticed her manager at work was holding his arm and appeared to be in a lot of pain. He had recently had surgery for tennis elbow. She asked if she could pray for him and was surprised when he said yes. So she laid hands on his elbow and prayed a short, simple prayer that his elbow be healed. He reported that his elbow then felt warm. Several weeks later he was not only acknowledging that he had been healed, but also sharing with other staff members that it was God that had healed him! It's great when people acknowledge that the power of prayer has led to their healing, and even greater when they share their testimonies!!

Hands and knees

We have been hearing an increasing number of testimonies about knees and hands lately and how people have been freed from pain after years of discomfort.

One couple have been praying over the last 18 months for people with problems with their knees, and have so far prayed for at least three people. The first man was not expected to be very receptive to prayer, but was actually very open to the laying on of hands. In this case, there was no immediate effect and he went on to have an operation. While prayer at this time did not have the effect the couple were expecting, they were able to form a closer connection to this man, which they believe is a positive result. The second person was very open to prayer, and while he also had an operation on is affected knee, he went on to have a remarkably fast recovery. He came back to this couple to thank them for the prayer he'd received and to acknowledge the connection between prayer and his recovery. The third person that this couple prayed for also allowed them to lay hands on his knee, but did not expect healing. The couple did not hear from him for a long time, until he rang to say that his surgeon had cleaned out his knee and removed cartilage. When he went in for his second operation, it was found that the cartilage had grown back and no further treatment was required. The surgeon tried to explain that this was due to "stimulation" from the initial surgery, but this man believes and acknowledges that his healing is due to the prayers he had received.

A man from church, knowing that prayer for knee pain had been effective in the past, asked our pastors to pray for his injured knee. The following day he reported that he had almost 100% healing. It is encouraging to hear that one person's testimony can be the catalyst for another person to seek the same.

One member of our church recently attended a healing conference where Bill Johnson was speaking. This man took the opportunity to ask for healing for his hands, which had caused him many years of pain and discomfort. Since the conference, he has remained pain free, and is able to enjoy activities that he hasn't been able to participate in, such as playing his guitar.

A woman in church took interest in this testimony and decided that she wanted it as her own. So she asked this man for prayer for her hands, which had also been causing her grief for years. He prayed for her, and then she went away for 10 days. During this time, she spent a lot of time outside and was exposed to the winter elements. She reported that she had no pain during this time, which was remarkable in these cold conditions. Since then, she has remained pain free.

Cancer scares

One young girl in our church asked for prayer for her mother who had been told by doctors that she had a tumour in her ovaries. The church prayed, and the mum, who is a non Christian, accepted the prayer. An operation was performed, and after several tests, all results came back clear and the tumour was benign.

Similarly, we heard a story about a lady who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A prayer request was sent our via our sms prayer chain, and when this lady went in for surgery, doctors found that the cancer had gone.

Praise God for healing cancers!

Testimonies flow...

While there has been a lack of blog updating lately, there has definitely not been a lack of testimonies. God has been touching people in many areas of their lives, whether it be financial, health, healing, encouragement and employment, among other things. God is in every situation.

The next few blogs are written in no particular order. They are stories that have been collated over of wide period of time, some from years ago, some as little as a week ago. It just goes to show that God is always at work!

Handkerchief Healing

A while back, a man in our church asked us to pray for a person who was unwell. He used a handkerchief anointed with our prayers to bring healing to this person. This person was healed, and the man kept the handkerchief. Recently, the same man knew of a woman who was in hospital with a burst oesophagus. He took the anointed handkerchief into hospital and laid it across the woman. This lady was discharged later that week, and doctors had found nothing wrong with her. What an amazing example of how powerful prayer can be!

Money matters

One girl was struggling with finances recently. She had just moved out of home was looking for work. She felt challenged to bless someone with the little money that she did have, and when she did, she was provided with a large sum of money in return.

Another occasion saw a girl needing to pay for a phone bill without having the necessary money in her budget. After praying for provision, she was approached by a woman at a church service who was told by God to bless her with money. The amount given was the exact amount needed to cover the outstanding bill!

We also recently heard a story of a lady who has also been struggling with finances and who had a couple of debts overshadowing her ability to save money. She was challenged to open a savings account with the view of regularly contributing to this fund. Once she opened this account, she received her tax refund which was enough to clear her car loan, and she had news that a $20 000 debt had also been dropped. What an awesome reward for meeting the challenge!

He provides

Lately we have heard a number of testimonies that show us how God provides for the things we care about, big or small. One mother places a lot of importance on tithing for provision for her family. One week she was disappointed that she did not have enough money to tithe and still have enough money for the weekend. Recently, however, she had recommended a man for a job, and the very weekend that she was low on funds, this man showed up on her doorstep with the money that she needed - known in tradie's language as the "spotter's fee", but known to us as God's provision.

On that same weekend, another lady was headed to a very busy shopping complex for a time of retail therapy. Which is all very well, once you have found a parking spot! On this day, the car park was particularly crowded, so this lady asked God to help her out. He then promptly directed her to the next row of parks where she found her spot. Quickly and conveniently, as parking should be!

We've also been shown how God provides encouragement through people. One of the members of our church has been helping out a troubled young girl with court proceedings, going with her to solicitors appointments etc. It has been a very stressful time. This lady was encouraged though, when a unrelated person handed her a gift and told her it was a thankyou for helping out the girl. She immediately felt the love of God.

Peace

A few weeks ago, one girl took a day off from her stressful job to find some peace. Wanting to relax and feel joy, she took herself down to her favourite beach and went for a walk to a quiet lookout. As she overlooked the scene before her, she was awed by the beauty, but wanted more. So she said to God, "This is awesome, but I want more. If you are here with me, show me some dolphins!" Seconds later, she shifted her gaze and there they were! A pod of three dolphins that swam and leapt and put on a show for the next thirty minutes before they disappeared. They took her breath away. What an amazing display of God's love as He provided the joy and peace that this girl wanted, in such a unique way!

Buy, rent, sell.

In the last month or so, we have heard a number of testimonies relating to the buying, selling or renting of houses. One man was given notice of the intention to sell the property he was renting, which left him with only a short amount of time to find a new home, in a area where rentals are in high demand. But with God involved in the house hunt, not only did he find a house, it was also the first house he applied for! A stressful experience was made short and simple.

One member of the church had a stepdaughter looking to buy a nice, affordable home. All of the houses she had looked at had been far too expensive. Wanting his stepdaughter to find a home, this man prayed for the right one to become available. His prayer was answered when his daughter was approved for a house that was in the area she wanted and was well under budget.

Another man has a mother who's health was failing, which meant that she could no longer live in her house. Wanting to sell the house quickly without hassle, he prayed and the house was promptly sold - over the asking price! Encouraged by this testimony, another man in the church decided to pray for his own mother's house that had been on the market for a long time. His prayers were also answered when that house was sold! This showed us all that not only are these testimonies important to the person telling the story, but also to those who hear it. What happens to one person can be such an encouragement to someone else!

Healing

Recently, we were asked to pray for a pregnant lady who had gone into multi-organ failure. She had just discovered she was 10 weeks pregnant, but doctors told her that her organs were shutting down and she faced a stay in hospital for the duration of her pregnancy. She has young children as home, and her husband could not afford to take 30 weeks off work to care for the family. The church prayed for her and her condition improved. Her organs are now functioning normally and she was able to go home. Doctors had not treated her, she just "fixed herself". Praise God for this amazing healing!

A New Era

Welcome to Cardinia Christian Centre's first official blog! It seems we have reached the technological era. Not only do we have this blog, but we also have a facebook page and the beginnings of our own website. Which is awesome, because the more opportunities we have to connect with people and share our stories, the more people will get to hear God's word and be encouraged by His love for us!

This blog is being written to not only document the testimonies that come from within our church, but also to encourage everyone who reads it. By sharing these testimonies online, people can read back over them and see how God has healed/provided/answered/cared/loved His people. What an awesome encouragement. God is so good!

If you have a testimony to share, please email it to ccctestomonies@live.com.
